Well if you are going to have a fall wedding, then I would recommend that at least part of the ceremony be outdoors. After all, the whole purpose of having your wedding in the fall is to capture the beauty of all of the colors. Without the fall colors, the fall would be just like every other part of the year. This is not to say that your entire wedding should be outdoors. In fact it would be best to have the first half of the ceremony outdoors, and then have the meal inside after the sunsets.

The best way to conduct the ceremony would be to have the vows said as the sun sets, with the sun setting in the background of the bride and groom. This is sure to provide a photo opportunity that will be in your families' photo album for decades to come. Outdoors, you will be able to experience the beauty of the season, while indoors you will have the comfort of a fireplace and the company of your family and friends. So if the question is indoors or outdoors, then I would definitely say the answer is both! You can't have one without the other!
